Dhaka: Ameer Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, while addressing an emergency press conference, stated that the nation has rejected all rumors since yesterday and foiled attempts to seize polling stations and carry out conspiracies. He said that since this morning, people have been casting their votes in a festive atmosphere and participating enthusiastically in the electoral process with the dream of establishing justice.However, he expressed concern that reports of attempts to cast fake votes were being received from various parts of the country. In some places, polling agents were attacked and injured, women were harassed, and in a few locations, attempts were made to take control of polling stations.Dr. Shafiqur Rahman appealed to the public to ensure the protection of their votes until the announcement of results, just as they had so far thwarted attempts at vote theft and illegal occupation of polling centers. He urged citizens to act as guardians of their own polling stations and to f ully cooperate with law enforcement agencies so that no one could snatch away the people's precious votes.He also called upon law enforcement agencies and the administration to further intensify their efforts to maintain a fair electoral environment. He stated that certain elements were engaged in conspiracies to snatch ballot boxes and occupy polling centers, and such elements must be dealt with firmly. He emphasized that the public mandate must be protected at all costs and that state institutions should stand with the people.
