Islamabad: On the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan organised rallies across the country, with massive public participation to express unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir.
Participants in the rallies raised slogans in support of the Kashmiri freedom movement and reaffirmed that the hearts of the Pakistani people beat with their Kashmiri brethren. They vowed continued support for the just struggle of the people of occupied Kashmir against Indian occupation and oppression.
Addressing the gatherings, JI leaders at provincial, district and local levels urged the government to pursue the Kashmir cause with full resolve and to raise the issue forcefully at the United Nations and all other international forums. Speakers strongly criticised the silence of the UN and global powers over human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir and demanded that the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and rulers of Muslim countries exert pressure on India to grant Kashmiris their internationally recognised right to self-determination.
Rallies were held in major cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Mardan, Swabi, Sheikhupura, Jhelum, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Rahim Yar Khan, Muzaffargarh, Vehari and many other urban and rural centres. Jamaat-e-Islami Youth also organised special youth rallies in several cities to highlight the role of young people in keeping the Kashmir cause alive.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, large processions were taken out in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Dir, South Waziristan and other districts, where speakers condemned India's unilateral actions in occupied Kashmir and called for practical steps to support the Kashmiri resistance. In Punjab, rallies were organised across northern, central and southern regions, with participants emphasising that symbolic gestures were not enough and that sustained diplomatic and political efforts were required.
In Sindh, major rallies were held in Karachi, Dadu, Larkana, Nawabshah, Jacobabad, Ghotki, Tharparkar, Badin, Jamshoro and other cities. Addressing the gatherings, JI leaders said the continued oppression of Kashmiris exposed the double standards of the international community and demanded a united stance by Muslim countries against Indian aggression.
The speakers across the country reiterated that Kashmir is a core issue for Pakistan and warned that ignoring the aspirations and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people would have serious consequences for regional peace. They reaffirmed Jamaat-e-Islami's commitment to continue raising its voice for Kashmir until the people of the occupied territory are granted freedom and their right to self-determination.
