NCCIA must play a proactive role in the present era to curb cybercrimes: Mohsin Naqvi

Islamabad: Interior Minister Senator Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi has emphasized that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) must play a proactive role in the present era to curb cybercrimes.

Mohsin Naqvi expressed these views while visiting the building designated for the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency headquarters in Islamabad. Minister of State for Interior Senator Muhammad Talal Chaudhry also accompanied the Interior Minister on the occasion.

During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi sought a comprehensive plan for the upgradation of the building, directing that a new floor be added to the building in view of the institution's growing requirements.

He said the NCCIA headquarter would be equipped with modern IT infrastructure and advanced digital facilities.

Mohsin Naqvi also visited the Parliament Lodges, where he inspected both the under-construction new block and the existing old block. He set a deadline of three months to complete the new block and issued instructions to expedite the construction work.

The new block of Parliament Lodges comprises one hundred and four residential units and upon completion, it will ensure the provision of improved residential facilities to all parliamentarians.

The Interior Minister further instructed the authorities concerned to initiate work on the installation of CCTV cameras and the construction of a boundary wall for the new block. Additionally, he sought a viable plan for the restoration of the old block.
