Dhakka: National Citizen Party (NCP) newly emerging political party under the leadership of the students has forged electoral alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) before the parliamentary election in Bangladesh (BD).
NCP came into being as a result of protest movement which led to ouster of former Prime Minister Sheikh Haseena Wajid from power.
Chief of NCP Naheed Islam has said this party has decided to join this alliance. Final list of the candidates will be issued today.
February 12 election will take place under an interim set up which is being led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus.
According to a survey conducted by US based International Republican Institute in December. National citizen party stands at 3rd position with 6 percent support, Nationalist Party and JI with 30 percent and 26 percent support are ahead of others.
