Islamabad: The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) on Tuesday continued celebrations of its newly launched state-of-the-art building in Islamabad, aimed at empowering Pakistani students and expanding access to global educational opportunities.
The new facility features a fully equipped auditorium for seminars and cultural events, a Lincoln Corner offering free educational resources and public programming, and EducationUSA advising services for students interested in pursuing higher education in the United States. An outdoor amphitheater has also been developed to host entrepreneurship fairs, panel discussions, and cultural activities, providing an active space for learning, collaboration, and engagement.
Students, civil society members, alumni, community partners, digital influencers, and media representatives toured the facility during the celebrations and experienced firsthand the resources and services that will shape its long-term educational and social impact. U.S. Embassy's Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy, Andy Halus, led a media tour and highlighted the importance of this investment in Pakistan's educational landscape.
'Education, innovation, and entrepreneurship are cornerstones of the longstanding friendship between the United States and Pakistan, and this new facility makes it possible to collaborate on all of them under one roof,' Halus said.
The day-long event also featured an entrepreneurship fair that brought together students, innovators, and entrepreneurs to explore new avenues for growth and collaboration. This was complemented by an entrepreneurship panel discussion featuring speakers from the U.S. Embassy, the National Incubation Center Islamabad, and the Pakistan-U.S. Alumni Network (PUAN). The panel discussed U.S. government support for entrepreneurship, challenges and opportunities for Pakistani innovators, and the broader entrepreneurial landscape in Pakistan.
Marking the 75th anniversary of USEFP and the Fulbright program, the Lincoln Corner hosted an open house for members, local university faculty, and students. Volunteers from 'Friends of the Corner' guided visitors through activities highlighting free English language resources and educational programs available to Pakistanis aged 16 and above. Technology demonstrations in the makerspace and creative studio further showcased the building's role as a vibrant hub for creativity and learning.
The new USEFP building stands as a symbol of the long-standing and multidimensional U.S.-Pakistan relationship, bringing together education, business, and culture in one dynamic space. The facility reflects the shared vision of both countries to invest in the future of Pakistan's youth and to promote economic development, innovation, and sustainable progress.
