ISLAMABAD: During the hearing of Nikah during iddat case of former Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, Judge Afzal Majoka of District and Sessions Court Islamabad has remarked order of Islamabad High Court (IHC) holds importance and " I cannot even think of violating it. The district court resorted to IHC for directives in connection with adjournment of hearing. Additional Sessions judge Afzal Majoka heard the case. Suleman Safdar, Usman Gul and Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry counsels for Bushra Bibi appeared in the court. They said that Suleman Safdar gave arguments that Suleman Akram Raja has given arguments on the duration of iddat. I adopt the arguments of Suleman Akram Raja on duration of iddat. The assistant lawyer to Zahid Asif counsel for Khawar Manika appeared before the court and requested on behalf of the senior counsel for adjournment of hearing. He said the hearing be adjourned in view of Muharram ul Haram. Suleman Safdar said what cases are fixed in court, the applicat ion for adjourning the hearing of such cases cannot be given. The judge " Give your arguments. I talk to high court. I get direction from high court with reference to adjourning the hearing. Counsel for Bushra Bibi said it should be brought into knowledge of high court time frame has been hidden in the petition. A short interval was announced. On resumption of hearing Judge Afzal Majoka remarked high court has been informed about petition. We will see it in accordance with whatever the directions of high court are. Suleman Safdar said appeal was lingered on for three months. No trust was expressed on the judge when the decision of the case was to be made in the court of Shah Rukh Arjumand. Khawar Manika either should change his lawyer or his lawyer should file written reply. The court has not to show non compliance of the orders of the high court. Judge gave complete decision and now the central appeals against the conviction have to be decided. Islamabad High Court and your orders are being no t complied. You have powers to dismiss this petition. Have you to comply with the orders of high court or sessions judge. Judge Afzal Majoka remarked the order of high court holds importance. I cannot even think of violating high court orders. Suleman Safdar said he will resort to some other forum if this court adjourns hearing. On the resumption of hearing Suleman Safdar counsel for Bushra Bibi filed another petition in response to appeal plea of assistant lawyer of Khawar Manika seeking adjournment of the hearing. The court adjourned the hearing of the case till July 8.
