Islamabad: Newly constituted National Judicial Automation Committee (NJAC) under Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar of Supreme Court (SC) has expressed resolve to accelerate pace of digital transformation in judicial system.

Expert judges in Information Technology (IT) of Supreme Court, Federal Shariah court and high courts and important representatives of Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT), National Information Technology Board (NITB) and Law and Justice Commission (LJCP) are included in the committee.

Committee has unanimously decided to develop a dashboard to monitor performance of judiciary. MOITT will appoint a team for this purpose.

This interactive dashboard will improve monitoring and assist in decision making based on evidences.

It will promote more accountability and transparency in judicial institutions.

An active prototype of dash board is likely to be presented within 15 days.

The committee decided MOITT will conduct a comprehensive site survey of supreme court and high courts for video conferencing in connection with virtual hearings.
