Islamabad: ½Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong. Upon his arrival at the Ministry of Interior, the Federal Interior Minister welcomed the Chinese Ambassador.
During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on counterterrorism, internal security, and security cooperation.
The Chinese ambassador strongly condemned the terrorist attacks on civilians and security forces in Balochistan, expressing heartfelt condolences and solidarity with the affected families.
He reiterated that China condemns terrorism in all its forms and stands firmly with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the terrorism in Balochistan was carried out under a planned and organized conspiracy, adding that security forces responded swiftly and effectively.
He briefed the ambassador on the timely and successful operations conducted by security agencies and the special measures being taken to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and projects.
'The security of Chinese nationals and projects is extremely important to us,' Mohsin Naqvi said, emphasizing that providing maximum security to Chinese citizens remains Pakistan's top priority. He announced that a Special Protection Unit is being established specifically for Chinese security, and noted that modern Chinese technology and equipment will be instrumental in coordinated counterterrorism operations.
The interior minister also informed the ambassador about his recent successful visit to China.
Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in intelligence sharing and cybercrime prevention, and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the Pakistan-China strategic partnership.
Mohsin Naqvi stressed that no enemy can harm Pak-China friendship, while the Chinese ambassador thanked Pakistan for the steps taken to ensure the security of Chinese nationals.
In return, the interior minister expressed gratitude for China's unwavering support for Pakistan at all times.
Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Talal Chaudhry, the Interior Secretary, Special Secretary Interior, and senior officials from the Chinese Embassy were also present at the meeting.
