Notice issued to the respondents on petition against governor Sindh ordinance

Karachi: Another petition has been filed in Sindh High Court (SHC) against Governor Sindh ordinance related to constitutional benches and the court issued notices to the respondents for November 27.SHC sought reply from the respondents on next hearing.SHC clubbed the petition filed by Asif Wahid Korejo advocate with other petitions of this nature .Ibrahim Saif ud Din counsel for the petitioner took the plea the ordinance promulgated by governor Sindh is affecting the independence of judiciary. It has been made binding to accept the appointment of judges in section 6 of the ordinance.The counsel for the petitioner said non accepting the appointment has been declared misconduct. The powers for settling code of conduct of judges rest with the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) . Provincial assembly or governor cannot determine code of conduct.The counsel for the petitioner further said the independence of judiciary is basis of the constitution. No compromise can be made on the independence of judiciary.
