Nov 26 protest case: ATC issues non bailable arrest warrants of Aleema Khan


Rawalpindi: Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi has issued non – bailable arrest warrants of Aleema Khan sister of PTI Founder in November 26 protest case registered in police station Sadiq Abad.



Faisal Malik counsel for Aleema Khan appeared in the court.



Exemption from attendance plea was presented on behalf of Aleema Khan saying she will not appear in the court unless her account and national identity cared are defreezed.



Special prosecutor Zahoor Shah said the accused cannot dictate the court and nor can it hijack the court. The court has given order to conduct the trial of the case on day to day basis. The attitude of the accused is irresponsible from the very first day. When the accused is not appearing in the court then how can the bank account and national identity card be defreezed.



The court rejected Aleema Khan exemption plea after hearing the arguments of the respondents besides issuing non bailable arrest warrants of Aleema Khan.



The court ordered SP Rawal should arrest Aleema Khan and present her before it till tomorrow.



The bank account and national identity card will remain blocked unless the accused appears in the court.



The court issued notice to guarantor of Aleema Khan besides adjourning the hearing of the case till tomorrow.



The prosecution witnesses were present in the court.



Judge Amjid Ali of ATC Rawalpindi heard the case.



Cross questioning of as many as 10 witnesses has been completed in the case registered against Aleema Khan.



The court had summoned more witnesses for cross questioning on Monday.
