November protest case: Non bailable arrest warrants of Aleema Khan issued

Rawalpindi: Non bailable arrest warrants of Aleema Khan sister of Imran Khan has been issued by Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Rawalpindi due to non appearance in the court.The regular trial of November protest case could not begin in ATC Rawalpindi.Judge Amjid Ali Shah heard the case.Prosecutor Syed Zahir Shah presented first five witnesses for recording their evidence in the court.10 out of 11 accused persons appeared in the court. Aleema Khan did not appear.Neither any exemption from attendance application was given by Aleema Khan nor any lawyer appeared from her side in the court.Prosecutor Zahir Shah said Aleema Khan is deliberately obstructing the case. One year has passed since the case was filed. Non bailable arrest warrants of the accused be issued. Show cause notice for cancellation of bail be issued to Aleema Khan.Prosecutor Zahir Shah said the accused is obstructing trial by taking undue benefit of the bail.The court while agreeing to the arguments of prosecution issued non bailable a rrest warrants of Aleema Khan.The court issued notice to the guarantor of the accused. the court directed the guarantor to present the accused in the court.Notice for cancellation of bail under section 497 of criminal procedure was issued to Aleema Khan.The case was registered against Aleema Khan in Sadiq Abad police station in connection with last year November protest under No 3393/24.The witnesses included sub inspector Zahir, sub inspector Iqbal and constable Babar. ASI Kazim Raza and ASI Tariq Mehmood also appeared in the court as witnesses. 87 accused were challanned in the case. 9 were convicted on confession of offence. 66 accused are proclaimed offenders.11 accused including Aleema Khan are facing trial following their indictment. All the accused in the case are on bail.
