Islamabad: The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, who led the Iranian delegation in the talks held in Islamabad, said that before he had emphasized that the necessary intent and willingness for dialogue existed, but based on the experiences of the past two wars, they do not trust the opposing side.

In a statement posted on his X (Twitter) account, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament said, ‘During the talks, my colleagues in the Iranian delegation presented various proposals; however, the opposing side failed to gain the trust of the Iranian delegation in this round of negotiations.’

He added that the United States now understands Iran’s logic and principles, and the decision now rests with them whether they can earn Iran’s trust or not. ½Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf further stated that for the defense of the Iranian nation’s rights, they believe not only in diplomacy but also in military struggle. He said they will not retreat even for a moment from the achievements gained in defending the Iranian nation during the forty-day war. He also thanked Pakistan for playing an important role in facilitating the negotiations.

Expressing gratitude to his fellow delegation members, he said, ‘Well done, may God grant you even more strength.’ Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf wrote ‘Iran is a body with 90 million souls, from all the heroic people of Iran who, following the advice of the Supreme Leader and by taking to the streets, supported their children and sent us on our way with their blessings-for this, I am grateful, and to my colleagues in these intense 21-hour negotiations, I say: well done, God strengthen you’.
