Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has again been approached on the matter for not arranging meeting of lawyers and PTI leaders with PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala jail.

PTI leader and opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Omar Ayub has filed contempt of court plea in IHC for not arranging meeting with Imran Khan.

Interior secretary, home secretary Punjab and Superintendent Adiala Jail have been made respondents in the petition.

The petition has been filed through PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen advocate and other lawyers.

The petitioner took the plea " I am opposition leader and I represent the largest political party of the country. PTI founder is in Adiala jail. Consultation is needed in regard to legal and party matters.

It has been said in the petition court had ordered to work out SOPs for meetings. Permission is not being given for meetings with PTI founder despite formation of schedule under court's orders. Court had issued orders on November 22, 2024 with reference to meetings.

The petitioner requested the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings due to non implementation of court's orders.

Order be issued for allowing lawyers and party leaders to meet with PTI founder Imran Khan as per court's orders.
