Islamabad: Opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Omar Ayub Khan through a letter addressed to speaker NA has sought copy of reference filed against him and details of speaker's decision.

Omar Ayub has said in the letter legal and constitutional basis of the reference, certified copies and record of the proceedings be provided. Allegations, constitutional points in regard to disqualification reference and legal clarification of reference under article 62 and 63 be provided.

He demanded of speaker to provide complete verified copy of the reference and evidence.

Through letter inside proceedings during the decision on reference and file notings have also been sought.

Omar Ayub said details about extending opportunity for clarification and notices be also furnished.

Omar Ayub has sought clarification in regard to reference on the basis of third party applications.

He said discretionary precedents of speaker under article 63 (2) be also provided. Details be furnished for legal process, transparency and just proceedings.

He has demanded that record be provided forthwith on the basis of democratic trust and parliamentary dignity.

It is pertinent to mention here Babar Nawaz had filed reference against Omar Ayub and speaker NA had sent it to election commission for further proceedings.
