Islamabad: Pakistan while rejecting the baseless and unilateral claims of India regarding Occupied Kashmir has made it clear the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir cannot be changed due to any one sided step of India.
Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson said Jammu and Kashmir dispute is included in the oldest international disputes on UN Security Council agenda. It should be decided finally through an independent and impartial plebiscite .
According to FO spokesperson people of Jammu and Kashmir have right to decide their future. The plebiscite be got conducted under UN in accordance with the resolution of Security Council.
FO spokesperson said Jammu and Kashmir has been shown as disputed territory in the maps of UN. Therefore, the so called official maps of India and unilateral claim of autonomy has no legal or international position.
The spokesperson made it clear the unilateral steps by India can neither change the reality of Jammu and Kashmir dispute and nor can they affect the right to self-determination of people of Kashmir.
Pakistan has demanded of international community to take notice of unilateral moves of India and play its role to end human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir.
FO spokesperson urged India to stop human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir forthwith and deliver its promises for acquisition of their right to self determination by the people of Kashmir.
The right to self determination of people of Kashmir is acknowledged in relevant resolutions of UN Security Council and the dispute should be resolved in accordance with these global principles and as per aspirations of Kashmiris.
