Islamabad: Rear Admiral Shahin Mammadov, Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces, called on Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad today.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the close and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan and expressed satisfaction with the current level of defence cooperation, with particular focus on naval collaboration and regional maritime security.
The Defence Minister emphasized the importance of continued engagement through professional exchanges, joint training, and dialogue to strengthen interoperability and cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces.
Rear Admiral Mammadov appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting regional peace and stability and conveyed Azerbaijan’s desire to further enhance defence and naval collaboration.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen bilateral defence relations in the spirit of mutual trust and longstanding friendship.
