Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan today handed over a list of 257 Indian prisoners (58 civilians and 199 fishermen) held in Pakistan to the High Commission of India in Islamabad.
The move follows the Consular Access Agreement signed between Pakistan and India on 21 May 2008, which requires both countries to exchange lists of prisoners in each other's custody twice a year, on 1 January and 1 July.
The Indian government is expected to reciprocate by sharing the list of Pakistani prisoners with the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.
