Islamabad: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced the formation of an Adhoc Governance and Management Committee to modernize administration and elevate hockey standards in the country.

As part of efforts to strengthen technical excellence, legendary Olympians Hassan Sardar and Islahuddin have been appointed as co-chairs of the Professional Development Committee. Their responsibilities include oversight of national team selection, implementation of specialized training protocols, and establishing rigorous benchmarks for coaches and players.

The long-term management selection process will be carried out by the Professional Advisory Committee, also co-chaired by Hassan Sardar and Islahuddin. Additional members of this committee will be inducted in consultation with the two former Olympians.

To ensure focused oversight, corporate governance, marketing, and resource mobilization have been separated from technical hockey operations. Members of the Governance and Management Committee include Capt. Farrukh Atique (HR and Finance), Mr. Shakeel Shah (Departmental Coordination and Outreach), Amir Ibrahim (Corporate and Marketing Support), Ghulam Ali Mallah (School and College Sports Promotion), and Brig. (Retd) Akmal Aziz (Services and Institutional Coordination).

All committee members will serve on an honorary basis, contributing their expertise to help restore Pakistan hockey to competitive prominence. The PHF emphasized that these reforms reflect its commitment to transparency, professional merit, and institutional collaboration, ensuring that the national game receives the corporate and technical support required for a global comeback.
