Islamabad: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS and CDF) of Pakistan, called on the President of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, during the latter's visit to Islamabad on Tuesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
During the high-level meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and bilateral defence cooperation. The two sides reaffirmed their strong resolve to further strengthen the longstanding and friendly military ties between Pakistan and Indonesia, rooted in mutual respect and shared strategic interests.
President Prabowo Subianto lauded the professionalism, discipline, and operational readiness of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged Pakistan's significant role in promoting regional peace and stability. He also appreciated Pakistan's contributions to collective security efforts in the region.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated that Pakistan attaches great importance to its historic and brotherly relations with Indonesia. He emphasized Pakistan's commitment to further expanding defence collaboration, particularly in the areas of military training, counter-terrorism cooperation, and capacity-building initiatives.
The meeting underscored the shared vision of both countries to enhance defence and security cooperation as a key pillar of their broader bilateral relationship.
