Islamabad: The National Assembly was informed on Friday that the government is focusing on export-led growth after achieving macro-economic stability to achieve sustainable economic growth.

Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani told the House during the Question Hour that the government is holding regular discussions with the business community to achieve the goal.

Highlighting the efforts for enhancing tax base, he mentioned that the government reduced tax rate for the salaried class during the current fiscal year.

Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said the 27th constitutional amendment passed by the parliament will not only ensure provision of justice to the people but also help sort out constitutional matters in a just manner.

He said Parliament is the supreme institution and encroachment on its powers will not be tolerated. He said Pakistan is moving along the constitutional path. He also praised the armed forces, saying they are writing a new chapter in the defence of the country’s borders, airspace and seas.

Minister of State for Planning Chaudhry Armaghan Subhani told the House that efforts are underway to address the big challenge of out of school children. He said special emphasis is being made on girls’ education and that twelve Daanish schools have been approved by the Central Development Working Party for establishment in the federal capital, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and Balochistan.

Meanwhile, four bills were laid before the house on Friday. These included: Port Qasim Authority Amendment Bill, 2025, Gwadar Port Authority Amendment Bill, 2025, The Associated Press of Pakistan Corporation Amendment Bill, 2025 and the Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) Amendment Bill, 2025. The House has been prorogued.
