Pakistan issues demarche to Taliban regime over terror attack in KP’s Bajaur


Islamabad: Foreign Office (FO) has said a strong demarche has been delivered to the Afghan Taliban regime on the terrorist attack in Bajaur.



No compromise of any kind will be made on regional peace, sovereignty and respect of international laws. We welcome role by Saudi Arabia for stopping use of Afghan soil against Pakistan, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said this during weekly briefing in FO here Thursday.



Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said the the Ministry conveyed serious concern that FAK/TTP, whose entire leadership is based in Afghanistan, operates with impunity from Afghan soil.



He said it was reemphasized that Pakistan has repeatedly received assurances from the Afghan Taliban regime, but, regrettably, with no visible or concrete actions.



The spokesperson said the Afghan Taliban regime has been told to take immediate, concrete and verifiable measures against all terror groups operating from its territory, including their leadership.



He said the Afghan Taliban regime has also been categorically informed that Pakistan reserves the right to respond and eliminate any Khwarij belonging to FAK group along with their affiliates, wherever they are located to ensure safety of its soldiers, civilians and territorial boundaries.



He said Prime Minister (PM) is in New York at present. He is visiting US on the invitation of US president Donald Ttrump. He will participate in the meeting of Gaza Board of Peace. The prevailing situation in Gaza and matters related to establishment of peace will come under consideration therein. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar too is present in New York.
