Rawalpindi: The Pakistan Navy showcased its operational readiness and combat capabilities in a comprehensive exercise conducted in the North Arabian Sea, demonstrating both conventional and unmanned naval systems in line with modern warfare requirements.

The exercise featured the live firing of LY-80(N) Surface-to-Air Missiles (SAM) from the Vertical Launching System at extended ranges. The missiles successfully engaged and destroyed aerial targets, validating the Navy's long-range air defence capabilities.

Surface strike capabilities were demonstrated through the Loitering Munition (LM) system, which successfully neutralized surface targets, highlighting precision strike proficiency. In addition, open-sea trials of an Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) were conducted, showing the platform's high-speed performance, mission durability, extreme maneuverability, and precision navigation. The USV is designed as a low-risk, high-impact autonomous solution for modern naval operations.

The exercise was observed by the Commander Pakistan Fleet, underscoring the Navy's ability to integrate advanced systems in operational scenarios.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf commended the officers and personnel for their professionalism and reaffirmed the Pakistan Navy's commitment to protecting national maritime interests and ensuring the seaward defence of Pakistan under all circumstances.
