Pakistan rejects controversial Israeli decision of merging parts of the Occupied West Bank

Islamabad: Pakistan while rejecting the controversial Israeli decision on merging parts of the Occupied West Bank has called upon international community to take immediate measures to halt these illegal acts.

According to Foreign Office (FO) Pakistan strongly condemns the Israeli steps for merging parts of the Occupied West Bank and extending its so-called "sovereignty

The controversial proposed law tabled in the legislature of the occupying power is a blatant violation of international law, relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people,

According to Foreign Office spokesperson such provocative and illegal steps weaken the ongoing efforts for peace and stability in the region.

Pakistan has demanded of international community to take immediate and effective steps to stop these illegal activities besides holding the Israeli occupying forces accountable for persistent violations of international laws.

Pakistan has reiterated its resolve to continue its efforts along with its regional and international partners for protection of the rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to self-determination, and to ensure peace, justice, and dignity for the Palestinians.

The Foreign Office also reaffirmed Pakistan's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, including the establishment of an independent, sovereign, viable, and contiguous State of Palestine, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
