Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly condemned the attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against civilian and economic targets in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan condemned the attacks in the strongest possible terms and described them as a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Pakistan said such attacks posed a threat to peace and stability across the region and undermined international efforts aimed at securing a peaceful and durable resolution to the conflict in Yemen.
Pakistan reiterated its unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and prosperity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Islamabad also expressed complete solidarity with the Saudi leadership, government and people and conveyed sincere wishes for the swift and full recovery of all those injured in the attacks.
Pakistan said that, consistent with the United Nations Charter and international law, it fully supported Saudi Arabia's legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend its territory, protect its citizens and residents and safeguard its national assets against any threat.
The Foreign Office reiterated that Pakistan would continue making all possible efforts towards achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
