Islamabad: Pakistan condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the reprehensible attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against civilian and economic targets in Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

According to the statement issued by the Foreign Office Spokesperson Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan, these attacks are a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom, pose a threat to peace and stability of the entire region, and undermine efforts aimed at securing a peaceful and durable resolution of the conflict in Yemen.

He said that Pakistan reiterates its unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, security and prosperity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and stands in complete solidarity with the leadership, Government and brotherly people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Pakistan also conveys its sincere wishes for the swift and full recovery of all those injured in the attacks.

Sajjad Haider Khan said that consistent with the UN Charter and international law, Pakistan fully supports the Kingdom's legitimate right to take all necessary measures to defend its territory, protect its citizens and residents and safeguard its national assets against any threat. He said that Pakistan has been and will continue to make all efforts for achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
