Islamabad: Chairman of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, called on Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, at the Parliament House, Islamabad.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations, enhancing Parliamentary cooperation, regional peace, unity of the Muslim Ummah, and promotion of economic partnership.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq underscored that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share historic and brotherly relations founded on faith, trust, and mutual respect.
Highlighting the Pakistan-Saudi Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement, NA Speaker termed it a matter of honour and pride for Pakistan, reflecting shared commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity.
The Speaker extended heartfelt good wishes for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, Chairman Shura Council Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, and the people of Saudi Arabia. He also commended the Custodians of the Two Holy Mosques for their remarkable services in preserving Islamic cultural and spiritual heritage and appreciated the Kingdom's humanitarian role in facilitating the Gaza ceasefire.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq reaffirmed that Pakistan's Government and Opposition are united in strengthening ties with Saudi Arabia and lauded the Kingdom's steadfast support for Pakistan during the Pakistan-India conflict and its consistent advocacy on the Kashmir issue at international forums.
Recognizing Chairman Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh's valuable services for advancing Pakistan-Saudi Parliamentary relations, the Speaker announced that he would be conferred Pakistan's highest civil award.
Chairman Saudi Shura Council Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and reaffirmed that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia stand together in every sphere. He emphasized that the Pakistan-Saudi Strategic Mutual Defence Partnership is not directed against any third country but is aimed at promoting regional peace and stability.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing Parliamentary and economic cooperation, promoting unity within the Muslim Ummah, and deepening the bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, and Members of the National Assembly including Syed Hafeezuddin, Ms. Zeb Jaffar, Malik Aamir Dogar, Ms. Sehar Kamran, Mujahid Ali, and Noor Alam Khan.
