Parliament has the prerogative to legislative and make amendments to the constitution: Attaullah Tarar


Lahore: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate has said parliament, being the supreme institution, has the prerogative to legislative and make amendments to the constitution.



Responding to the queries of the media persons in Lahore on Saturday regarding the 27th constitutional amendment, Attaullah Tarar said that a detailed discussion was held on it and that the due process was followed.



He highlighted that the establishment of a federal constitutional court was part of the vision outlined in the Charter of Democracy, highlighting that this move will ensure speedy justice for the common man.



In response to a question about judicial appointments, the Information Minister emphasized that such appointments will be made on the basis of merit and legal competence. He said there will be no personal liking or disliking in such a matter.



The Information Minister commended the efforts and sacrifices of security forces in the war against terrorism.



He said Intelligence Bureau and CTD have arrested the handlers and facilitators of those involved in the recent terrorist attack in Islamabad. He said they are being investigated and there has been progress in this case.



He said Pakistan Army also successfully rescued 550 students in Wana Cadet College and eliminated all the terrorists there. He said the terrorists are hitting the soft targets as they do not have the capacity to achieve the hard targets. He said our security is in safe hands and peace will return to Pakistan.
