ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) has challenged in Islamabad High Court (IHC) the notification on allowing ISI to tap phones of citizens.6 members of PBC filed petition on Thursday in this regard.Secretary IT, Defence secretary, interior secretary and PTA have been made respondents in the petition.The members of PBC including Shafqat Mehmood Chohan, Abid Zubairi, Chaudhry Ishtiaq, Munir Ahmad Kakar, Tahir Faraz Abbasi and Abid Saqi have filed petiton.It has been said in the petition that notification issued under section 54 of Telecommunication Act is illegal. Complete mechanism has been given in fair trial act-2013.The notification on grant of permission to secret agency to tap telephone of citizens be declared illegal and null and void.The notification be suspended till the decision of this case.
