PCB announces central contract

Lahore: PCB has announced central contract of National Cricket Team for the year 2025-26.

As per media report no player of national cricket team has been found fit for A- category. Due to it the Board abolished the A category from central contracts.

PCB awarded contracts to 30 players. 10 players each have been placed in category B, C and D on the basis of performance. Contracts will remain in place from July 01, 2025 to June 30, 2026.

Contracts were awarded to 27 players last year. This year number of contracts has risen to 30. As many as 12 new players have been included.

New players who have been include are Ahmad Daniyal, Fahim Ashraf, Hassan Ali, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdal Shah, Muhammad Abbas , Muhammad Haris, Muhammad Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan, Suleman Mirza and Soofiyan Muqim.

9 players have succeeded in retaining their previous position. 8 players have failed in acquiring contract.

No player has been included in A category this year. Therefore, this category has been abolished for the time being.

This year Nasim Shah has come from B to C category and test captain Shan Masood has come from B to D category.
