Peshawar: Chief Minister (CM) KP Sohail Afridi has said peace does not come at gun point. " Peace does not come at gunpoint. The province is burning due to ill conceived policies, he added.The central ceremony of "Youm-e -Shuhada-e- Police was held in Peshawar. CM KP, IG FC, Commandant Frontier Constabulary, IG KP and other senior officers attended the ceremony.Paying tribute to the sacrifices rendered by police Shuhada CM KP said terrorism has caused enormous harm to the province .He held KP police is ahead of all for its unprecedented courage and valor. Government is standing with police like a rock.He said government has provided Rs 35 billion to police. Police budget has been enhanced to Rs 85 billion.Modern arms , infrastructure, improvement in the police stations and bullet proof vehicles will be provided to police.He remarked new wave of terrorism has been brought in the province. Peace prevailed from 2018 to 2022. The peace was established due to sacrifices of police, security forces and people.He said certain people are deciding to resettle the terrorists in the state. The province is burning due to wrong policies. Police cannot counter terrorism alone. Peace does not come at gun point but expedience is necessary too along with gun.He said if institutions stand with him then he is ready to bring peace within 100 days. I have never made call to IG police for any act of victimization.He further said Punjab police have become personal servant. KP police will not be used for raids against JUI or any political party.
