Rawalpindi: Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench while giving big relief to former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has suspended Accountability Court (AC) decision.
Division Bench comprising justice Shehram Sarwar and Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi while issuing notice to NAB on writ petition of Pervaiz Elahi suspended AC decision.
The court granted exemption to Pervaiz Elahi from attendance in AC.
Sardar Abdul Razzaq Khan advocate and Aamir Saeed Ran appeared in high court division bench.
During the hearing of the case the counsel told the court Pervaiz Elahis is elderly politician and he is under treatment in Lahore due to illness. He cannot come to AC on every hearing. Trial court has dismissed the exemption from attendance plea illegally.
Justice Shehram Sarwar summoned NAB prosecutor and asked NAB has what objection on exemption from attendance by Pervaiz Elahi.
The court was told illness of Pervaiz Elahis is not as such that he should be given exemption from attendance.
Later the court after preliminary hearing approved writ petition of Pervaiz Elahi for regular hearing and suspended AC decision.
The court issued notice to NAB for detailed discussion.
