Quetta: Petition against PECA act came up before justice Abdullah Baloch and Justice Najmud Din Megal in Balochistan High Court (BHC) Monday.

The petition has been filed by president Balochistan Union of Journalist (BUJ) Khalil Ahmad and vice chairman Balochistan Bar Council Rahib Baledi.

The court while admitting the petition for hearing issued notice to federal government and information department.

The hearing of the petition was adjourned for two weeks.

Talking to media men president BUJ Khalil Ahmad and vice chairman Bar council Rahib Baledi said we fully hope from the judiciary that it will nullify PECA amendment act which runs contrary to human rights.

PECA amendment act has been brought to stifle freedom of expression and we are resisting against it.
