Petition regarding release, return of Aafia Siddiqui: I cannot even think federal govt rejects assistance of AG office

Islamabad: Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan of Islamabad High Court (IHC) has remarked he cannot even think federal government rejects the assistance of Attorney General (AG) Office.

He gave these remarks during hearing of petition in connection with release and return of Dr Aafia Siddiqui from US to Pakistan Friday.

IHC directed the Additional Attorney General (AAG) to provide documentary assistance to federal government.

Imran Shafiq counsel for petitioner and AAG appeared in the court.

Amicus curiae Zainab Janjua also appeared in the court.

The court directed AAG to file reply to declaration of counsel for Aafia Siddiqui, Clive Smith till Thursday.

Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan remarked " I cannot even think federal government rejects assistance of Attorney General Office. Attorney General Sahb you have to file in court a copy of assistance you have to provide to government.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till next Friday.
