Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) while issuing 28-page detailed decision in the case against use of government resources in political meetings has declared it illegal.

Justice Sahibzada Asad Ullah has maintained in the decision issued on Thursday that Chief Minister (CM) is constructional care taker and protector of government resources. The use of government resources and employees should be made only for the welfare of the people.

The court maintained that it is must the government resources are used as per the procedure laid out in the constitution. Transgression of powers falls in the ambit of legal and moral violation.

The chief secretary was directed in the decision to make it binding on all institutions to work within the ambit of law and constitution besides ensuring government employees, resources and machinery are not used for any political motive.

The court directed IG Police KP to ensure police is not used for any political purpose.
