Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has dismissed appeal plea of former provincial minister Shaukat Yousufzai against penalty in defamation, damages case being not pursed.

The court said in the decision the case was called multiple time but neither the applicant nor the lawyer appeared in the court. Therefore court was left with no other option than dismissing the appeal plea .

The court maintained petitioner has lost interest in this case. The petition is dismissed being not pursued.

Former central president of Awami National Party Asfand YAR Wali Khan had filed damage case against Shaukat Yousufzai.

District court had ordered Shaukat Yousufzai to pay the amount of damage.

Shaukat Yousufzai had filed appeal plea in PHC against district court decision and penalty.

The court dismissed the appeal plea being not pursued by him and his counsel.
