Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) while hearing petition against closure of 26 tobacco factories in KP BY Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued orders for opening all these factories.The court while issuing notice to FBR and all respondents has sought reply.The court has also stopped them from initiating any proceedings against the petitioners.The petition against closure of 26 tobacco factories by FBR came up for hearing before PHC bench comprising Justice Waqar Ahmad and Justice Ejaz Khan Friday.The counsel for the petitioner told the court FBR has sealed 26 cigarette factories on the charges of not installing cameras while no cameras are installed in the factories in any province in the country except KP .He said CCTV cameras were installed under the directives of FBR and time was also given till August 25. Despite it the factories were closed.The court inquired from Additional Attorney General (AAG) why the tobacco factories only in KP were closed.The court remarked officers have been appointed in factories under section 14-B.Dozens of employees working in Cigarette industry have been rendered jobless due to FBR action .PHC while issuing notice to all respondents including FBR has sought reply.The court sought arguments on next hearing.
