Peshawar: Peshawar High Court (PHC) has restrained Election Commission (EC) from taking further action against PTI leader Zartaj Gill.Petition against disqualification of Zartaj Gill came up for hearing before Justice Waqar Ahmad and Justice Ejaz Khan of PHC Tuesday.The counsel for the petitioner said during hearing of the case Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Faisalabad awarded 10 years punishment to Zartaj Gill.On August 5 EC disqualified the petitioner along with other members.Justice Waqar Ahmad questioned counsel for the petitioner why he did not go to Lahore High Court (LHC).Counsel for the petitioner said the similar petitions in respect of Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz are pending hearing here. Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz were disqualified in this case.Justice Waqar Ahmad said we will hear this along with other petitions. We will hear you on jurisdiction powers in respect of the case on next hearing.The court while seeking reply from EC and other respondents adjourned the hearing.
