PESHAWAR:Peshawar High Court (PHC) while suspending the notice regarding vacation of government residence in respect of dysfunctional Deputy Speaker (DS) of KP assembly has allowed him to live in the official residence besides restraining the authorities from arresting him.

According to written order of court no mention is made about posts of speaker and deputy speaker in presidential order and in the order regarding vacation of official residence.

Counsel for DS took the plea during the hearing of the case that DS has right to use official residence under KP Speaker and DS Act-2026.

The law enforcement agencies cannot conduct raid on official residence during the term of post.

Advocate General (AG) took the plea government has powers to get vacate official residences of ministers, advisors and DS. A case under section 406 is registered against DS on the report of Deputy Commissioner Chitral.
