Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar Advocate has said that PIA flights to Europe and the United Kingdom have been restored due to the efforts of the present government.

Talking to media persons outside Islamabad High Court on Friday, Attaullah Tarar thanked Almighty Allah that these flights were restored in the era of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

Attaullah Tarar said a previous government inflicted billions of rupees of losses to Pakistan International Airlines by making irresponsible statements.

Regarding the case of Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company, the Information Minister said he has presented his position in the court on the issue and requested the Islamabad High Court to restore Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company as more than 300 employees are serving in it.

He said the process of dissolving Shalimar Recording and Broadcasting Company was initiated much before he assumed office as Minister for Information and Broadcasting.

Attaullah Tarar said the court has also issued orders to submit a business plan for the company and directed the liquidator to pay the salaries of the employees.

Replying to a question, he said incompetence is at its peak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as corruption and mismanagement are also on the rise in the province.

The Minister said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government could not save the tourists stranded in the Swat River due to its rampant corruption and inefficiency.
