Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has approved plea for early hearing of petitions filed by Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi seeking suspension of their sentence in 190 million pounds case.
The court has directed to conduct hearing within two weeks.
190 million pounds case came up for hearing before acting Chief Justice (CJ) Sarfraz Dogar and justice Inam Amin Minhas Thursday.
IHC admitted plea for early hearing of appeals and miscellaneous petitions filed by Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi seeking suspension of their sentence in 190 million pounds case.
The court while directing to fix appeals against conviction of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi for hearing within two weeks has remarked we will see the petitions seeking the suspension of sentence along with appeals.
Counsel Ali Bokhari advocate requested the court during the hearing of the case to give date for fixing the petitions related to suspension of the sentence.
Acting CJ IHC said division bench has issued judicial order regarding fixation of cases. We can not give any date direct after judicial order.
We will see petitions seeking suspension of sentence along with the appeals against the sentence.
Counsel Zahir Abbas advocate and Usman Gul appeared on behalf of PTI founder and Ali Bokhari advocate appeared from Bushra Bibi side.
It is pertinent to mention here PTI founder and Bushra Bibi have filed petitions for early hearing.
PTI founder is serving sentence of 14 years in jail and Bushra Bibi is serving sentence of 7 years in jail.
Both of them have filed appeals and petitions seeking suspension of their sentence.
