PM contacts political leadership on the matter of torrential rains, flood situation

Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has contacted various political leaders in the perspective of continuing monsoon rains and flood situation in the country.

PM telephoned Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and expressed deep sorrow and grief over loss of precious lives in Southern Sindh particularly Karachi due to torrential rains and urban flooding.

PM assured government of Sindh of every possible assistance from federal government.

He directed chairman NDMA to remain in constant contact with Sindh government besides extending every possible assistance to provincial Disaster Management Authority and ensuring advance alerts to the public regarding potential risks.

PM also contacted JI Amir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman and exchanged views on the damage caused in KP due to recent rains and ongoing relief activities.

PM appreciated forceful participation of Al-Khidmat Foundation in relief and rescue activities during rains and floods.

PM also talked to education minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on telephone. Both of them discussed prospective damage of recent and expected rains in Sindh.

PM assured that the federal government will extend full cooperation to the provinces through NDMA and other federal institutions to deal with any emergency situation.
