Islamabad:Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has directed all federal ministries to complete the process of digitalization of respective data and their provision at National Digital platform under Digital Nation Pakistan Programme within prescribed time.
A review meeting on performance of federal ministries and progress in digitalization of respective data under Digital Nation Pakistan Programme was held under PM Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad.
PM said a central national data centre under the Digital Nation Pakistan Programme would play a key role in delivering government services and facilitating citizens.
Shehbaz Sharif said Digital Nation Pakistan Programme aims to ensure effective and convenient services for the people at the national level.
The Prime Minister noted that making useful data from all sectors and government departments available at one place would contribute to the country's economic development.
He mentioned that data sharing among departments has played a key role in the successful implementation of the fuel subsidy scheme for deserving segments of society.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the digitization of ministries' performance and relevant data is also important for curbing corruption and institutional mismanagement.
He appreciated the Ministry of Health for taking commendable measures, in coordination with provincial governments, to develop universal medical record at the national level. He also appreciated the implementation of QR codes to ensure the supply of quality medicines across the country.
The meeting was informed that digitization in basic public service sectors, particularly health and agriculture, is being completed on a priority basis for the convenience of the people.
Various federal ministries briefed the meeting on their public services, performance and provision of relevant data to the central data centre.

The meeting was told in briefing that ministry of information technology in collaboration with ministry of law is taking special measures to make national laws available at one place which will help provide better guidance in connection with law making and policy making in future.
