Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has directed power division to evolve comprehensive and effective policy to enhance industrial and agricultural production.

A review meeting on electricity generation in the country and reform agenda of power division was held in Islamabad under PM Shehbaz Sharif Monday.

The PM was given briefing by power division on likely reform package on generation of electricity and its comprehensive and effective use.

Power division also gave briefing to PM on ongoing work in connection with policy recommendations and other reform agenda.

PM issued directives on ministry of energy to carve out comprehensive strategy for enhancement in industrial production agriculture production through effective use of electricity production.

The PM also directed power division to work out diverse recommendations to facilitate investors and industrialists.

PM said extending every possible facility to agriculture and Industrial sector is among top priorities of the government. Work be done on policy to ensure maximum positive utilization of power production.

He held the optimal use of electricity production can lead to an increase in industrial goods and agricultural output.

The meeting was attended by minster of energy Sardar Owais Khan Leghari, Information minister Atta Ullah Tarar, Minister for economic affairs division Ahad Khan Cheema, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) and Minister-in-Charge for Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar and senior officers of other government departments.
