Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif commended the Pakistan Navy for successfully rescuing a crew of 18 personnel from various countries during an emergency humanitarian operation in the North Arabian Sea. The Prime Minister appreciated the professional capabilities, prompt response, and spirit of humanitarianism of the Pakistan Navy’s officers and personnel.
While commending the Pakistan Navy, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that upon receiving the emergency alert from the merchant vessel “Gold Atom,” the Pakistan Navy ship PNS Hunain conducted an immediate and effective search and rescue operation. In the operation, the crew members belonging to various countries, including China, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Indonesia, were safely evacuated. All individuals have been transported to Karachi, where they are being provided medical facilities, and arrangements are being made for their return to their respective countries. The Pakistan Navy will continue to play the role of the primary rescue agency in every kind of maritime emergency situation within the scope of its responsibilities.
