Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif while congratulating people and successful candidates on the conduct of transparent, peaceful and politically vibrant elections in the region. has said transparency, peaceful environment and forceful participation in political activities is beauty of democracy.

People of GB should be appreciated particularly in this respect, he said this in a statement issued here Monday.

The PM congratulated PPP on emerging majority party and paid tribute to president Asif Ali Zardari and chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on this success.

He further congratulated successful candidates of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) and appreciated their strong performance and efforts during the electoral process saying party team worked hard and contested the election well.

Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated the police and law enforcement agencies for their role in maintaining peace during the elections.

The Prime Minister praised the Election Commission for ensuring free, fair, and transparent elections.
