PM Shehbaz contacts Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, discusses regional situation

Karachi: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif telephoned Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman and extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to him.Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman also conveyed Eid greetings to the Prime Minister and his family. During the telephonic conversation, the two leaders exchanged views in detail on the national and international situation.According to details, PM Sharif briefed Rehman on the latest developments in the negotiations between Iran and the United States, as well as the prevailing regional situation. On the occasion, the Jamaat-e-Islami chief urged the government to immediately reduce the prices of petroleum products and electricity in order to provide relief to citizens burdened by rising inflation.Meanwhile, JI Emir also contacted Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman by telephone and exchanged Eid-ul-Adha greetings with him. The two leaders held detailed discussions on the country's political situation. Rehman and Fazlur Rehman agreed that the proposed Abraham Ac cords with Israel should not be accepted. Both leaders stressed that the government should adopt a clear and unequivocal policy on Palestine and reject the Abraham Accords. They also agreed to build greater pressure on the government through a united stance on the Palestine issue so that Pakistan remains committed to its principled position.Separately, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman also spoke by telephone with PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser. He extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to both leaders, while discussions were also held on the prevailing political situation in the country.
