PM Shehbaz holds telephonic conversation with Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim

Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a warm and most cordial telephone conversation this afternoon with the Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. The Prime Minister's telephone call was primarily to convey his condolences on the passing away of the Malaysian Prime Minister's elder brother.

The Prime Minister offered prayers for the departed soul as well as strength for Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and his family members, at this difficult time.

The Malaysian Prime Minister expressed his thanks and good wishes to Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for sharing his sadness at the passing away of his brother.

The two leaders reiterated their common resolve to strengthen bilateral relations between Malaysia and Pakistan, especially in the realm of economic cooperation.

Meanwhile PM Shehbaz Sharif in a statement issued on X wrote 'I spoke this afternoon with H.E. Mr. Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia to convey my heartfelt condolences on the passing of his elder brother. I prayed for the departed soul and for strength and comfort for him and his family in this difficult time. We also reaffirmed our commitment to further strengthen Pakistan-Malaysia relations, particularly through greater economic cooperation'.
