Islamabad : Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a meeting with Vice President JD Vance and other members of US delegation who arrived in Pakistani capital today for talks with Iran.

The meeting comes ahead of the ‘Islamabad Talks’ which are due later today, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

During the meeting, the US Vice President was assisted by Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner – who is also the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump.

The prime minister was assisted by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi.

Commending the commitment of both delegations to engage constructively, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that these talks would serve as a stepping stone toward durable peace in the region.

PM Shehbaz reiterated that Pakistan looks forward to continue its facilitation of both sides in making progress towards sustainable peace in the region.
