Lahore: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Mian Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind on Saturday and discussed the overall political and economic situation of the country.

According to party sources, Nawaz Sharif expressed deep grief and sorrow over the heavy loss of lives caused by floods and rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. He directed the Prime Minister to ensure immediate relief to all affected families and to accelerate rescue and rehabilitation operations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed him on the prompt measures taken by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), as well as ongoing relief activities being carried out by the Pakistan Army and other institutions.

Nawaz Sharif also expressed satisfaction over the improving economic indicators and advised further steps for the welfare of the common man. Sources added that party matters and upcoming by-elections were also discussed during the meeting.
