Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received a telephone call, on Sunday, from Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

During their warm and cordial conversation, the two leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and reviewed the progress of ongoing peace efforts in the region.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed Pakistan's sincere appreciation for Qatar's continued and steadfast support for Pakistan's peace initiatives, reaffirming the depth of the brotherly bonds between the two countries. Both sides underscored the importance of constructive engagement by all parties to ensure the success of ongoing peace efforts.

The Prime Minister conveyed his warm regards to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, and stated that he was looking forward to the upcoming visit of His Highness the Amir to Pakistan.

The visit of His Highness the Amir would help both sides to further strengthen and expand the enduring Pakistan-Qatar partnership.

Meanwhile PM Shehbaz Sharif in a statement issued on X wrote 'I was delighted to receive a telephone call from my brother, H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the State of Qatar, earlier today. We exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and reaffirmed our shared commitment to support all ongoing efforts aimed at promoting lasting peace, stability, and constructive dialogue across the region. I also conveyed my sincere appreciation to my dear brother, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, for his wise leadership and for Qatar's continued support for Pakistan's sincere efforts to advance regional peace and stability through dialogue and diplomacy. I look forward to the visit of my dear brother, the Amir of Qatar, to Pakistan very soon'.
